Greenhouse FAQ's
Do I have to be a member?
Yes... We have a Private members club. There is a £1.00 Liftime joining fee and your membership is valid @all the Greenhouses.
I don't want anyone finding out I go!
No details are asked of you so the only way someone will find out about you going is if they see you in there - enough said!
What happens when I get there?
You have to press the buzzer to be let in. Once in the door you will be given a key and a towel. Then you simply find the locker with your key number and get changed. Just wrap the towel around your waist and slip the key around your wrist or ankle.
How long am I allowed to stay?
You can stay for as long as you want (within the opening hours of course!). Look at the website for the individual opening hours of each sauna. The Entrance Fee is for however long you stay! ,Also you can Purchase A Pass out To Come Back Later In The Day.
What do I need to bring?
Nothing apart from yourself and the means to pay - and your hunger for some unadulterated fun...
or relaxation - whatever you prefer!
Can I bring my own drink/food?
No.... Greenhouse saunas have very good restaurants (especially Darlaston) that serve a wide range of food and drink at very reasonable prices (all charged to your key number and you settle the bill when you leave).
Do I need swimming trunks/shorts?
No, once past the locker area the only thing you are allowed to wear is a towel (and your key) - nothing else is permitted.
Do I need to wear a towel ALWAYS?
Only in the areas in between sauna/steam/pool/cabins etc - i.e. the 'public' areas. Once in the sauna room or steam room etc, then you can drop the towel - if you want to of course, you don't have to.
Do I have to keep the same towel all the time I'm there?
No, you can replace your towel every so often - just ask for another one - they do tend to get very wet. (Greenhouse reserve the right to charge for extra towels @30p each.)
Are there showers there?
Yes - with soap dispensers too. Hot and cold (for quick cool down after sauna/steam!).
Do I need to bring my own condoms or can I buy them there?
You can bring your own if you want - but condoms and lube are freely available. A jar of condoms and lube are usually situated in the restaurant area. If it's empty (and it's a large jar!) then just ask one of the guys serving.
I'm not perfect - will I fit in?
There is someone for everyone. All types are catered for so you've no need to worry. Nobody is perfect, no matter what they say!!
I'm shy!
We've all done the first time visit - where we've hovered outside for ages before going in! Rest assured, once inside and you've familiarised yourself with the surroundings you will quickly be at ease. There isn't much talking going on - so you don't have to worry about making conversation. Obviously some guys chat - but that's usually left for the TV rooms or the restaurant or apres-fun. You don't have to say a word to anyone if you don't want to - most aren't there to make conversation.
I lack confidence!
One of the good things about the sauna is that everyone is the same inside there: we're all anonymous, we all wear the same thing (towel!), most don't talk, and we're all usually only there for one reason.
How do I know if a guy is interested?
There is no definite way to know. Eye contact is a good way. If you're bold enough then try physical contact. He'll let you know if he's not interested and you just move on.
How do I know if the other guy is gay or bi and not straight?
Only gay and bi guys go there. It says on the outside only for gay and bi men. Although I'm sure a lot of us would LOVE to see a straight guy there!! Can't see it happening though!
What if I don't like the guy touching me? How do I let him know I'm not interested?
There are a few ways. Quietly say "no, sorry". Gently move his hand away. Shake your head. Walk away. Say "I'm resting". Whatever you do, don't get nasty…. Treat him how you'd like to be treated - in a calm and respectful way.
What if I get a hard-on?
Ummm, that's the point isn't it?? I think guys would notice more if you DIDN'T have one!
Can I make friends there?
Of course you can! There's no rule saying you can't. It's just like any other social place in that respect.
When is the best time to go?
There are no best/worst times…. It's different all the time! Sundays can get quite busy though as it's the most common day off work. But one Sunday might be very busy and the following Sunday could be very quiet - it's a chance you take.
Where is the best place to start cruising?
They're all good places for this. Cruising happens in the whole building!
Is there anything that is not acceptable?
I would say the only thing that won't be tolerated is violence. As long as all are consenting then go for it! Something and someone for everyone and everyone's tastes!

The Greenhouse cruising facility is for use of our members to meet within the safety of our Exclusive clubs. Members who use the facilty to arrange to meet at alternative meeting places will have their Cruising membership terminated.
